Born out of loss, created with care & commitment
Two life-changing events have occurred in the past couple of years for me. First, I lost my beloved husband, T, to Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Dementia in early 2024 after many years of caring for him. Then, a bit more than a year later, I left the organization I loved dearly and thought I'd be part of for the rest of my professional life, as a result of a major restructuring.
The thing is, before T's body started to crumble, I had a private healing arts and coaching practice for ten years, first in Albuquerque, where I trained, and then in my heart-town of Brandon, VT. Back then, I thought that was going to be my forever work, my calling, my right livelihood. But when T's need for care took precedence, and rightly so, I closed my practice and took a position at the only organization I wanted to work for. The next years were both the hardest and most fulfilling of my life,
Then I lost T, my person. And then, my job of a lifetime..
In the aftermath of these profound shifts, I've sought clarity about my next steps and have found a renewed sense of purpose. My prayer is that the lessons I've learned, the skills I've developed, and the gifts I've been graced with will serve as a beacon for others facing struggles, personal and professional, both similar to and different from my own. May my experiences, both painful and transformative, guide you toward healing and self-discovery. At Nurture Your Nature, I am committed to helping you cultivate resilience and growth in your own life, encouraging you to embrace your journey and let your true life, and light, shine.
Full disclosure - that's an old photo of me. I resist having pictures taken, so this is what I'm going with for now, until new headshots make it to the top of my to-do list (it could be a while). At the end of the day, though, the exterior you're looking at is just that, and I care much more about cultivating who I am inside, anyway.
And that is what Nurture Your Nature is about, for you.
May you be well,
AnnMarie
